QWI ISR and Imagery Analyst Consultant

Exciting times at 3SDL mean that we need to add to our Team. We are looking for consultants/trainers with Qualified Weapons Instructor (QWI ISR) and Imagery Analyst (IA) qualifications and experience – if you have both even better. Better still if you have UAS experience. These posts would be based in the UK with Malvern and Lincoln options available. Applicants must have the ability to hold UK Security Clearances and be willing to travel.

Cyber Analyst Intern

3SDL are looking to expand their cyber team and take on students interested in joining their Electronic Warfare & Cyber team initially for 12 months with a view to take someone on for a permanent position.

While there is a wide range of different projects candidates can get involved with, main responsibilities will include supporting colleagues with the technical modelling of complex systems to aid a cyber investigation process. This will involve engaging with other members of the team and system suppliers while applying technical knowledge to produce concise and accurate diagrams which will be delivered directly to the client.

Successful candidates will show some of the following qualities, with a view to further develop particular areas of expertise:

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment effectively;
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly;
  • Insightful analysis of information;
  • Ability to engage with clients and stakeholders;
  • Excellent verbal communication and presenting skills

Desired experience includes:

  • Cyber/ Security modules completed at university;
  • Previous work experience relevant to your degree of study is preferred

ISR Trainee Summer Intern

3SDL are looking to expand their ISR team by taking on a student interested in joining the ISR team initially for 12 months with a view to take someone on for a permanent position. The company offers a comprehensive set of training packages within various areas of ISR and are looking to take on an intern to support our ISR team leader for 9 weeks of a summer. 

Within this role candidates will assist with a range of outputs including:

  • Training course preparation and maturation.
  • National and international training programme planning.
  • Project Management/ coordination with existing training programmes the company is working on.
  • Some Business Development/ Strategy thinking for the company within the ISR market.

To be successful in this role, we expect candidates to have the following skills/ experience:

  • The ability to work independently without face-to-face line management is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a business environment is desirable.

Junior Software Developer

The software team is looking to expand their team. They work with defence and industry clients to provide efficient software solutions to real world complex problems. They are looking to expand their growing team and welcome a student in as a Junior Developer on a 12 month contract initially – with a view of progression into a permanent position going forward.

While there are a wide range of different projects candidates can get involved with, main responsibilities will include software development for various projects the company are currently undertaking. At a high-level we expect our candidates to have:

  • A general appreciation of the full SDLC
  • Good knowledge of IP networking

The wide range of projects means that the team works with a large range of technologies and languages. As such we look for any/ as many of the following skills in our candidates:

Marketing Intern

3SDL are looking to take on a marketing intern. They are opening this opportunity initially on a 12 month fixed contract – with a view for permanent employment in the future. 

While there are a number of different opportunities for this role, the main areas of work will involve working on the ongoing development of marketing for 3SDL. This will include:

  • Enhancing and maintaining the company’s presence on social media using Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to assist with developing campaigns and the day-to-day analysis of uploaded posts.
  • Putting together the company’s quarterly newsletter by way coordinating and collating articles from various parts of the business and sourcing the supporting material.
  • Maintaining a database of 3SDL’s clientele. This will additionally involve the analysis of our clients against sales performance and direct communication regarding the company’s performance.
  • Supporting the content development and analysis on the 3SDL website.
  • Providing support and planning for major industry conferences and events in order to optimise the value in the visits.
  • Support monthly meetings and liaison with our graphical material provider, Bravedog.

Essential competencies and experience:

  • Comfortable with the idea of digital marketing material and its manipulation.
  • The ability to work independently without face-to-face line management is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication. Experience with stakeholders and clients is a bonus.

Desirable competencies and experience:

  • Previous exposure with standard marketing approaches.
  • Experience/ interest for working in a project based environment.
  • Marketing knowledge for small businesses.
  • Client relationship building.
