Junior/Graduate and Senior Software Developer

We have an immediate vacancy for one junior/graduate level, and one senior software developer to join our rapidly expanding software team that provides a range of innovative defence software solutions.

Working within a small team, the role will require developing, maintaining and testing a range of software products utilising a range of languages and technologies.

Assistant/Trainee Project Manager

Due to our recent and ongoing successes, we need an Assistant/Trainee Project Manager to join our rapidly expanding team – could this be the opportunity you have been looking for?

You will be in the early stages or just beginning your project management career and looking for an exciting challenge with the opportunity for real responsibility from Day 1, rapid progression and career development supported by the training that you need, when you need it.

Working closely with, and mentored by, one of our most experienced Project Managers, you will be responsible for maintaining adherence to agreed project tools (e.g. finance, planning, risks and issues); assisting with drafting and monitoring budgets; and supporting key projects through-out the whole project life-cycle.

With extensive opportunities to travel both within the UK and internationally, this is an exciting opportunity to join 3SDL team.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualities, with a view to further develop particular areas of expertise;

Cyber Security Consultant

3SDL is always looking for further highly-experienced, suitably-qualified and passionate Cyber Security consultants.

The successful individual would deliver cyber and information assurance consultancy and have the following responsibilities:

  • Work within client teams to support and, as necessary, lead and manage security accreditation activities.
  • Liaise with client stakeholders including project managers, accreditors, suppliers and users to coordinate security assurance activities.
  • Work with clients to ensure programmes/projects conform to appropriate policies, developing clear and concise technical and management documentation, such as security management plans, security operating procedures and cryptographic plans.
  • Author information risk documentation and collate evidence to support information risk decisions.
  • Seek and provide suitable advice on cyber security related policy, standards, law and good practice.
  • Ensure company outputs are delivered on time and to the highest standards, suitable for presentation to the client and meeting their expectations.
  • Support clients in promptly managing security risks and issues, including supporting technology adoption, configuration etc.
  • Specify requirements for technical assurance activities (e.g. penetration testing, vulnerability assessments) and providing oversight of teams conducting technical tests.
  • Maintain formal records of client programme/project security relevant documentation, decisions and actions.

Successful applicants must have a background in Cyber Security consultancy or a complementary area; ideally with 3 to 4 years’ experience.

At least one of the following is highly desirable:

  • Recent CHECK Team experience.
  • ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • ISO27001 Auditor.
  • Certified Professional (CCP) scheme – either SIRA, IA Auditor or IA Architect roles at any level.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies.

Due to the security needs of the position applicants must be UK nationals and able to pass higher level security checks. As this is a consultancy role the applicant must also be willing and able to travel so a valid driving licence is also essential.

Defence and Security Sales Staff

Following continued success and recent expansion, 3SDL is recruiting for experienced and proven Sales staff to join our Business Growth Division. The successful candidates would have responsibilities for taking existing leads and opportunities and progressing them through the business-winning stages to delivery. There would also be an expectation of identifying new opportunities for growth.

Essential Competencies and Experience:

  • A detailed knowledge of the Defence and Security Sector.
  • A proven and evidenced track record of successful bid compilation and sales conversion.
  • The innovation and drive to see, create and win new work.
  • Excellent team player, self-aware and able to get the best out of others.
  • Able to travel extensively across the UK and overseas for short periods.
  • Security Cleared.

Desirable Competencies and Experience:

  • A proven record of selling Defence consultancy and services, as well as products.
  • Familiarity with Defence C4ISR systems, including tactical datalinks, Cyber, EW and Space.
  • Developed Vetting.
  • Fluency in a second language.
