During Bob’s last tour in the military, he served as a group captain at the Development, Concept and Doctrine Centre. He was responsible for the production of cutting-edge military publications across a diverse range of operational subjects. These ranged from cyberspace operations, through to military planning and building stability after conflict. He was also the UK Head of Delegation at NATO and Five-Eyes concepts and doctrine conferences.
Bob was also a highly-respected career manager for over 340 ambitious and talented senior executives. In this role he was responsible for balancing individual career and domestic aspirations against multiple operational requirements and budgetary pressures.
During his long military career, Bob accumulated a wide range of operational experience. He served in a variety locations - ranging from the Falklands as a fighter controller, through to Afghanistan, where he was NATO’s Air Operations Director at Kandahar Airfield. His UK air defence experience included command of the UK’s primary Control and Reporting Centre. Furthermore, he served as a wing commander in the UK’s Joint Ground Based Air Defence HQ during the London Olympics security operation.
Drawing on his well-honed instructional proficiency and training management experience, Bob particularly enjoys teaching. He has a knack for mentoring others and has also provided military advice to VIPs and very senior foreign dignitaries.
