Members of the Cyber Apprentice Development Scheme (CADS) have delivered 6 presentations to different year groups at The Chase School. The theme was #Unplugged, an initiative used to encourage students to reduce the time spent on their phones. The CADS demonstrated the threat of allowing random people to follow individuals on Instagram and the real life implications that can occur.
Set up by 3SDL, in partnership with QinetiQ, CADS aims to encourage students from local schools to develop an interest in cyber security whilst also allowing students to gain understanding and practical experience in business operations. The students benefit from a variety of lessons and discussions with cyber security professionals, and gain hands on experience by way of workshops and direct challenge, including open source intelligence gathering, Kali Linux, website design and visits to the National Crime Agency in London.
