Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks. UK businesses alone lose an estimated £21 billion per year to cyber criminals.
The full scheme enables organisations to gain 1 of 2 Cyber Essentials badges. It is backed by industry including the Federation of Small Businesses, the CBI and a number of insurance organisations. Since 1st October 2014, the UK Government has required that all organisations in the bidding supply chain for sensitive and personal information handling contracts must be certified against the Cyber Essentials scheme.
